④ Fluff → Something that is devoid of angst. It's light-hearted and might have the overtone of romance.

⑥ Your choice → Think of your own scenario, choose one of the above or make a combo even!

ACTION.

① Zombies → It's the zombie apocalypse, lock and load!

ANGST.

① Injury / illness → Your character has become injured or ill! To what extent is the mun's choice.

Everybody needs a little villainy to spice up their life. The basics: 6'2", with clear care put into his appearance, Zekarion holds himself with confidence but gives off the sense of someone thoughtful, generous and open-minded: the right kind of person you'd expect to have the connections needed as the CEO of an international company. This is usually bolstered by the aura of charismatic magic he emanates on a regular basis, but who knows whether that'll work or not. :) The name he gives to anyone who asks is Altius, and he will (gently) protest at any other address.

The setting can be whatever, feel free to pick and I'll roll with it 👍

[Wherever Zekarion has ended up, it's utterly unfamiliar to him in a way he couldn't have expected, even given the idea of Spirits attempting to pull him away from his goals. That is to say, whatever mundane information gathering he's doing at the moment is strained, with a level of tension in his posture that even his impressive self control can't hide. There's an edge to the vaguely polite smile he gives anyone who approaches.]

All of this is quite something, isn't it.

[After his initial anxiety has faded into more of a low dread and a fully internal conviction to go back here he came from, he starts going about whatever normal life may be here. Gathering supplies, shopping, searching for tasks or work—whatever's needed for him to make his way into something resembling power that he can wield towards the aforementioned goal. He'll do it without hesitation, but that doesn't mean he can't make a remark or two about it to whomever's working or gathering or shopping alongside him.]

I haven't had to start from nothing in a long time.

[The first time active danger makes itself known—maybe even the first few times—Zekarion does not use his power in any discernible way. Monsters, natural disasters, unnatural disasters, whatever it might be—he'll play the role of the unarmed civilian who's nonetheless a leader of sorts, ushering others who can't fight away from the danger and, at times, even putting himself in harm's way to ensure their escape.

Knowing he can heal himself from almost anything does allow him to keep his secrets for longer, and a little injury in the name of that goal is hardly enough to deter him. Plus, it gives him the added bonus of gaining a positive reputation as someone selfless despite his apparent lack of relevant training or special skills.

He might be injured by the time someone approaches, or he might not. Either way, with authority:]

[Then there are larger threats. At some point, there's no way for him to avoid using his magic—or this particular danger has something he wants, and he's going to take it. Hell—maybe what he seeks is yours. Good luck.

The gleaming yellow of his eyes behind a black domino mask, the high-collared cape with pauldrons, the pointed metal of his gloves and boots—they all paint a decidedly different picture of the man. When the thin jet-black blade materializes in his hand and a sneering grin comes to his face, it's almost hard to see how this is the same person.]

Introductions

[Wherever the hell they ended up at, it hardly mattered. It was all the same in the end. They were stuck here and there was no way to go back home... Yet. There was no way she was going to sit down and do nothing about it, after all. For now, she was just biding her time until she found a way, checking possibilities as they came her way.

It had been a week or two now, having -- mostly -- settled in enough to the locale when she came across an anxious-looking man searching for information himself. Choosing not to approach him right away, she simply studied him, gauging what to expect. A prim and proper guy who clearly cared about his outward appearance. Honestly, he reeked of authority. Not that she couldn't possibly know that firsthand, but she had seen plenty of authority figures in her short lifetime. It's all she ever saw while living with Carl. Corporate suits who ran the world as she knew it. All corrupt sons of bitches when it came down to it.

But even if she didn't approach him, he decided to make that move first. Simply glancing at him as he approached, she had a polite smile back, careful to examine for signs.]

It sure is. A little weird to take it all in, but I've dealt with worse than this.

[And then a beat.]

Why so tense? It's not the most ideal place to be stuck in, but surely not something to be so troubled over either.

[He's mildly interested in whatever she thinks must be stranger than this, but—

Ah. Though he attempts to loosen his shoulders with a deep breath as he brings a hand to his forehead, there's not too much point, is there? Even then, he doesn't notice the faintest tremor of his hand as he removes it from his face with a shake of his head, nor the dried spot of blood on his sleeve underneath his suit jacket.]

Am I so obvious?

[He flashes a brief smile; a little joke, to try to show he's not bothered by her remark, at least. He is bothered, though, and the smile is indeed brief.]

There's someone I'm... concerned about, back home. And I admit find it difficult to believe time makes no difference for us here.

[He's been reassured of this fact by everyone he's spoken to, partly because he's continued to bring up the urgency of his need to return. It's just so absurd—then again, his appearance here in the first place is almost as absurd.]

[It wasn't something she saw right away, but her examinations eventually took notice of the dried blood. Clearly someone not afraid to fight. There were a multitude of ways that such a thing could happen, but it was too early to say for sure. It was far easier to just assume he was not as harmless as he seemed. After all, Chronos was far from harmless and yet dressed to impress to uphold their position. Appearances weren't always so clear, after all. Having two specialized revolvers strapped around her thighs was enough to show that much. A normal 16-year-old would not have weapons like this where she was from. Much less so clearly presented. Crossing her arms into her chest, she simply listened before speaking up once more.]

Well, you'll have to stand in line for that one. All of us have someone or something that demands our attention, after all. But I do have to agree with you there. Weird shit happening is nothing new to me, but time freezing back home? That's a whole different kind of weird. It's best not to question it, to be honest. Saves your sanity a little bit.

[Two dozen questions flash in his mind; only slightly more than usual. A few frivolous ones added on top of that, simply for curiosity's sake; even when suffering from tunnel vision, he tends to want answers. But people get impatient or uncomfortable with too many questions, and he knows it's much better in the long run to earn the answers naturally than try to dig.

Her weapons were certainly one of the reasons he'd approached. Anyone her age with such a thing on display was... a potential for something. For him or against him, but important to know either way. He keeps himself from looking at them more than a single glance, though the conversation does help give him reasoning for that glance.]

What sorts of things are you used to happening, if I may ask?

[Lucca was used to people looking at her like that. More specifically her weapon choice. Whatever uncertainty he might felt with how she'd react had she notice his glance -- she had -- were simply shrugged off as if it was nothing odd.]

Taoists.

[A short and simple answer, but one that not everyone might understand. Something she'd come to learn in the time she'd spent here already.]

A lot of weirdos with unique and often strange powers. You have cults, organizations that own assassins, and your typical run-of-the-mill criminals who think they're good enough to escape justice.

[Shrugging slightly as 'justice' left her lips, added with a roll of her eyes momentarily. She'd never been a huge on people's opinions on what "justice" was the correct amongst others herself.]

Well, I guess they're able to evade typical police, but that's what Sweepers are for. If you ask me, we shoulder the heavy lifting that they can't handle more often than naught, but who am I to judge?

[The first thing that strikes him, though it probably shouldn't, is the clear mention of strange powers and her familiarity with them, meaning these things... may not be uncommon amongst those he's going to be interacting with. He's going to have to be more careful than ever, he supposes, but he wasn't planning on letting his guard down, regardless.

The second thing that strikes him is that at least one teenager has been assigned by this apparent organization to hunt down dangerous criminals with special powers, and it sets his blood on fire.

He doesn't try to hasten the pause he takes after her explanation as he folds his arms, nor mask the furrow in his brow, though the depth of his anger doesn't reach his face. The resulting expression could be described as deeply troubled.]

I see.

[His tone makes it clear he has... issues with this concept she's described.]

... I'd think you'd be one of the primary people qualified to judge.

[Being forced to live in a regular society was not an easy adjustment for Morgana, especially in a town that's so far away from the ocean. Not that she hates being here, living amongst humans and being free from her duties at home, but there's still that part of her that yearns to swim through the waters once more. It feels kind of selfish thinking that way, maybe even childish, because didn't she get her wish? A chance to finally choose what's important to her?

Self-reflection is hard, but luckily this well-dressed man is here to bug. When you don't want to think about difficult things, you pester others.]

You will conquer this hardship. [She gives Zek the most unenthusiastic thumbs up in the world, but it's happening. Go, fight, win, Mr. Businessman that's definitely a human because he looks like one. Granted, she looks human as well, just... a little oddly dressed. With no shoes. A true heathen.]

As I am conquering mine. [She lifts her other hand that's carrying a bag of groceries. Yes, she is going to conquer dinner tonight.]

[What a strange-looking person... not that he hasn't seen his fair share thus far, but this girl's demeanor—and yes, lack of shoes—mark her as... something of an outlier.

Nevertheless, he only allows his gaze to linger for a moment, and smiles with a brief chuckle that he only barely has to force. Not that she'd be able to tell, even if she is familiar with human mannerisms.]

I appreciate the encouragement.

[He will, of course. He'll conquer that and a few other things. But yes, primary among those things is indeed dinner. Thank god he still knows several cheap recipes from growing up; he never would have made it through college without poisoning himself via a diet of 99-cent ramen otherwise.

And he's not demeaning himself or his magic by charming meals out of people every day until he can properly earn his keep. Even if he's thought of it.]

[Success, she has encouraged a complete stranger. Granted, it's not the first time she's managed such a feat, but it still feels like an accomplishment and one that she will accept without hesitation. It'll be a story she can later write in her journal, 'today while out shopping, she met a businessman and gave him a thumbs up.' She's never done that before, not those exact same circumstances anyway.

The two kids back home will enjoy these stories, surely. Especially if she's being a hero.]

Yes, I've arrived two weeks ago. [There's still something almost monotone about her voice, not really bored, but just low energy. Interestingly enough, however, it doesn't last long, her posture shifting a little as an easy smile comes to her. While she's still in that adjustment period, she can say for certain that it's just been nice helping out around town and getting money in return. Because...]

But I've already earned my keep. It's easy.

[Her peculiarities have drawn his interest, he'll admit to himself. He's always searching for the potential uses of those around him, of course, but sometimes people are simply intriguing in and of themselves. It's rare, but not unheard of.

He continues to keep his apparent focus on her, other than a few moments of retrieving his chosen produce from the bins nearby.]

Have you? [His tone is one of faint curiosity, neither condescending nor too interested.] How so?

[He's curious about her. She can discern that much from the gentleman's expression and that's completely fine. It's... she's always enjoyed talking with others, it's just strange that she may actually be living with him in the future. Ah, well, in this town at least.]

I'm very strong.

[As if to emphasize said strength to this stranger, she flexes her arm while staring right at him. She's super serious!! She's definitely impressed humans before with her ability to lift weights and everything.]

Ah, I know that I look small to you, but I promise, I've been carrying materials around for the villagers. [...] I can do it for you too. I don't mind, you don't look like someone that's used to hard labor.

[He's so well-dressed and everything!! Almost immaculate, so.]

[It's not uncommon that he's encountered that sentiment, and it's true he certainly hasn't done anything worth sweating over today. To be honest, in terms of more physical activities in the past several years, he hasn't had the time to do much more than train privately on his own, and it's not as if he allows any spectators when wielding his magic.

... not ones who'd talk to him about it later, anyway.

The mild upturn to his lips has something sly but friendly to it.]

I think you'll agree appearances can be deceiving. [Given the situation, he has no reason to disbelieve her, as silly as her behavior seems.] But I'll keep that in mind if I find myself with enough funds to pay someone else.

[Favors certainly have their place, but he doesn't like to give off the impression of being a charity case unless absolutely necessary.]

Perhaps you could direct me to the ones who've hired you, though. After we're done here.

[As Zek wanders around the village, he'll eventually come across one peculiar scene. There's a garden, well, sort of, it's mostly a garden that's a work in progress. There's a fence and the ground's been tilled, but nothing is really growing. Maybe the owner just planted something or they're just really bad at growing things, but Zek will soon spot one young woman crouching on the ground and staring at one particular spot on the garden.

She's pouting, one cheeked puffed as she pokes at the small stem that's peeping through the ground. It's a sign of some growth, but it doesn't feel enough. Logistically, she knows that it takes more than a week for things to grow, but ugh it feels forever so far! Both her cheeks soon puff as she breathes in more air, eyes glaring down at the innocent bud.]

Grow! [It just feels important that she can do something like this. Grow flowers and vegetables and everything like that. If she can accomplish this, then... maybe there's hope for her friends back home.] You will grow and become pretty.

[Zekarion normally wouldn't give someone talking to themselves over such a mundane thing a glance. He doesn't get to be so picky, now; he needs whatever he can get, and he needs to build a reputation.

So he pauses for a few moments on the path in front of her garden-in-progress, hands in his pockets, then remarks:]

[Anything worthwhile takes a long time; even if he weren't, you know, neck deep in a dangerous plot to destroy his world, he'd still hold that idea as fact in his mind.]

[Ellie loudly exhales, seemingly unbothered about being caught in a rather comical situation. Whoever this new guy is can make fun of her, it's fine, although it doesn't stop her from turning her head to look at him with a slightly disgruntled expression. Hm, guy like this probably doesn't even grow flowers!! Or carrots. Or any vegetation.]

Humph, I don't see you growing anything. [...] Besides, I have been patient, this is day seven and this little asshole only poked this much of its head out.

[As if for emphasis, she pokes it once more with her finger.]

[Back when his days weren't filled with endless plans and business politics, he spent a great deal of time out in nature. He still knows a thing or three.]

[Her face scrunches when he laughs. What a useless person this is, just standing around and laughing at her plight!!]

I don't want to wait-- [Small pause as she mentally figures that math out.] seventy days!

[One would think that being the personification of a planet would make someone patient, but no, she's just like this. Ellie huffs once more, before eventually deciding that pestering this guy is going to be far more productive than bullying her slowly growing plant. At least he's talking back at her! It's better than silence and boredom.

So, she slowly stands up to properly face him.] You'd think that a place that brought us here through space would have super technology to super grow plants.

[Okay, this chuckle he wouldn't even try to deny is at her expense. How adorable.

Some of his humor fades then, though; the put-upon sigh he lets out says he agrees with her sentiment before he even speaks.]

If they did, I'd imagine they wouldn't need our help, either. [Something something, people from other worlds have energy or magic or whatever that they don't have, please solve all their problems, etc.] You'd think they'd focus their efforts on something like that, rather than us. Solving hunger would be a step in the right direction.

[It really feels like the universe hates him.

He was supposed to find a way to control his powers, know the extent of them and everything. Professor McCoy even mentioned about crafting something to help him at least see until he has that control, but none of that matters anymore. He's not at Xavier's Institute. He's somewhere else, away from the one person that really cared about him, away from a place that was supposed to help him, trapped in a world that's unfamiliar and he can't fucking see just to top it all off. Scott wants to rip the stupid cloth off his face, but he can't, he doesn't want to destroy anything in front of him.

He doesn't want to risk hurting another person, like he did to his classmate back at his old school.

So, even though there's clearly danger around, maybe some giant monster attacking one side of town, Scott doesn't find himself caring all that much. Like a sullen and stubborn teen, he in fact walks towards the direction of that terrible screeching noise, with one voice managing to cut through all that screaming. It's a command that gets Scott to at least temporarily stop as he looks in the unknown man's direction.]

[If he hadn't spoken up, Zekarion might have assumed he was unable to see or hear—but no. He's just another child unwilling or unable to take the circumstances as seriously as he should. There's no way to miss the horrid sounds that creature is making as it leaves destruction in its wake, with no apparent heroes yet arrived to stop it. Only the local authorities are here now, doing their best to block the thing's advance with a barricade and a bit of paltry weaponry. Onyx doesn't plan to step in unless absolutely necessary; he's perfectly fine directing people away from the carnage while he keeps an eye on it and all who approach to fight it.

It's unlikely the boy is one of the latter, so he has no intentions of letting him past at the moment. He takes a step to block the way physically; Scott may not be able to see Zekarion, but he'll hear well enough the change in position as he answers.]

[Should Scott attempt to continue and move past him, he'll find a solid pair of hands on his shoulders to prevent that. Like hell he's going to be seen allowing this kid to head into this danger alone. Either way—]

That thing has reduced bricks to sand with nothing more than a step. You don't want to know what it can do to a person.

[A surge of irritation passes through Scott when he feels the man's hands on his shoulders. It really is annoying that he can't see anyone and that he doesn't even know who this person is. It's just another stranger telling him crap. There's only one thing that he knows for certain and that's pulling away from his grip. He doesn't need this old guy to tell him what to do.]

Like it matters. [He doubts that this stranger really cares about his safety. Why would he? Yeah whatever, he's young and guess that matters to some adults, but maybe if he pisses him off enough, he'll just let Scott go anyway. That's how his parents just decided to let him attend Xavier's.

Besides, I probably have a better chance destroying whatever it is than you or these other assholes that want to shoot at it or whatever. [He then gives a half-hearted shrug, seemingly uncaring about his own safety even though that's not fully true. Scott doesn't know what he wants or what he's doing honestly, a part of him wanting to help out, a part just still so angry, and he hates those bubbling emotions in him.

It just makes him want to lash out further.]

So, let me go.

[Scott won't find any resistance when he pulls away, but neither will Altius move out of the path. Even so, he hesitates a moment, eyes narrowing as he decides on a reply.

... obviously, he's not unfamiliar with teenagers wielding strange powers. Even his time here so far could tell him it's not as out of the ordinary as a "normal" person might believe in his world.]

Explain what you mean by that.

[The teen's jaw clenches, clearly torn between just trying to shove Altius away or figuring that answering him is the best way to get this done and over with. On one hand, he doesn't owe whoever this is any explanation, but it may be less of a pain in the ass if he did explain. Those thoughts battle in his mind for a moment before Scott turns his head away, looking off to the side and looking like a great example of a sullen and troubled teen.

Eventually though, he reluctantly answers.]

I shoot lasers out of my eyes. [Technically not lasers, but whatever, that's the description Scott is going to give. It took a lot just to give that answer, so he's not going to get into optic blasts and concussive force. Professor McCoy was really interested in how they worked, but he's a nerd anyway.]

Now point me in the right direction.

[Scott what is the plan, you can't see. Sure, he can hear the screaming and the roaring, but he's still blind. There's still buildings and everything around and he has no idea where he's walking.]

[Maybe it's a good thing that Scott can't see the momentarily baffled look that comes to Altius's face. The following pause might give off the impression of it, though, even though it's mostly filled by a quick succession of thoughts.

The young man is clearly hesitant to admit this, and his tone is anything but mocking—is this the reason behind his blindfold? Further, the impossible has been made possible here, however difficult he may find it to accept even as someone who's already familiar with magic; he has no choice but to believe Scott for now, at least in terms of the nature of this apparent power.

There are other considerations—many, in fact—but the immediate next step is this: in a tone no less serious than before, he continues,]
