laserguy: (how did you know)

[The beating in his chest hastens with every nearby crash and scream the injured monster makes. It's fully hard to tell where it's at, only that they're still in proximity of its presence, which is something that Scott wants. It is just hard to deny how frightening their current circumstance is. However, he keeps all of that pushed down, staying silent like he's been told, not wanting to risk injury to either himself or his companion. Whether or not he's telling him to stay quiet because the monster is near or if he needs the quiet to think, Scott doesn't care. He's keeping his mouth shut.

Look, he can do that when the situation calls for it. Maybe his old high school teachers just needed to get attacked by a giant monster.

It's hard to keep up such an attitude, however, when they're still in danger and Zekarion is doing his very best to keep both of them safe. Every step he makes while the older man keeps his grip on him pushes that feeling of gratitude, hands tightening just a little more as he bites his lip. He just has to wait for his opportunity to help, as frustrating as it is. He's worried that at some point, the older man will get caught off guard and... and he doesn't want that. Not just because he'll lose his 'eyesight' for the time being.

Scott's worst fears are almost confirmed when that tearing of cloth resounds through the air, accompanied by the distinct smell of blood and the mutant almost snaps his eyes open in concern. It doesn't take much to put two and two together, especially as Zekarion holds back a pained noise. He wants to ask how he's doing and the thought that he doesn't know how badly injured Zekarion may be only fuels his anxiety. Maybe he shouldn't have put this man in danger at all, even if he had no means to really run around himself. He still didn't want this.

However, regret and worry has no place right now, not when he's eased to the ground and obviously pointed in a direction once more. The implication is clear and he once again steadies himself, even though his worry for Zekarion is fully visible on his uncovered face. He... he'll have to check on him later. Somehow. Call for help, once this beast is dead. Scott has to make sure that it won't get up, for the people in this city and for this stranger.

Something determined pitches in his face as Zekarion gives him that one word command, emotions pushing Scott before letting his eyes fly open once more. Just like before, those concussive blasts burst out from his eyes, but they almost seem more powerful, fueled by something in Scott himself. They hum through the air and quickly hit their mark, this time, piercing through its body and coming out its other side as a dying roar nearly shakes the foundation of where they're standing at.

But finally, it collapses on the ground, one final twitch and gasping noise emitting from it before finally stilling. It's only then Scott shuts his eyes once more as well.]
