[Breathe, Summers. It's something he repeats to himself as that bandage shifts from his eyes, hinting that his companion (associate? ally??) is ready and therefore he needs to be ready. There's probably an opportunity right now and they shouldn't squander it.
...
This will be the third time he'll use his powers. First was an accident, second was to show Professor Xavier what he could do, and now he's going to use them to hopefully stop this rampaging monster. If he's thinking optimistically, it feels like he's improving with each use, but it's difficult to fully take in that mindset when he remembers how close he was to killing that other student. He knows he can't walk back though, not after everything he said, so he keeps on trying to push those emotions down.
Focus. Even if he's alone in this world, he can still... do this. Soak in the almost guiding hand that's on him, even if it's not Alex.]
Ready.
[As soon as Zekarion removes the bandage, Scott will only give him a few seconds before he lets his eyes open. Predictably, although maybe surprising to the older man, two bright red beams expel from his eyes with a loud hum. With the proper guidance, they hit their mark against the monster's vulnerable underbelly-- perhaps even strong enough to just pierce through its flesh.]
