[It wasn't uncommon for people to think her stance on the world was weird, much less her job. Hell, her ex-boyfriend's mother hated her because she feared that she would get him killed one day, despite never actually putting him in harm's way. She was quite adamant about keeping him safe. In the end, it didn't matter because his mother was sort of right.

No, it was her fault he died, or so she often blamed herself for when in reality she had no control over the situation. It was pretty low to go for someone who couldn't defend themselves if her target couldn't hurt her physically... Why not go for an emotional attachment instead? 'It would have been better if we'd never met. He never would have died if not for me....' People kept telling her she had been too hard on herself and it wasn't her fault, but nothing could truly convince herself otherwise.

Still, she tried not to think about it, though she'd be lying if she said it didn't cross her mind all the time despite that. Seeing people weirded out by it generally was natural, to normal people, but this man... He was different. Troubled. Overly troubled. It was clear she hit a nerve somehow.

Shrugging once again nonchalantly.]

Well, There's no way they can handle that kind of power. They usually end up dead when they try. Sweepers -- or I guess more universally known as bounty hunters -- are often more outfitted for the task. Running into Taoists just happened along the way.
